“Skyrim meets Stardew Valley” – if that doesn’t get you interested then I don’t know what will. This is a retro open-world RGP with enormous potential that has already smashed its low funding goal. And here in Crowdfunding Corner, we take a look at some of the interesting looking games that will hopefully be worth peoples investments. Some great games have come out of Kickstarter, after all.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the details along with some beautiful looking screenshots of the game.
About the game
Kightblade is a retro open-world RGP from Nicholas Schaer. A mixture of a farming simulator and a dungeon crawler that is set for release in early 2022. The game will be available on PC and potentially mobile, but the Kickstarter is for the PC version.
The game is best described by the creator as Skyrim meets Stardew Valley, made in the NES/SNES era. After creating your character from the 8 options presented to you (four classes, two genders, eight sprite options), our future hero will move into a beautiful little town and start their life as a humble farmer. But quickly you realize there is a mystery focused on the dungeons that lurk below. A mystery that involves the God of Death, and your own family legacy. Explore the world through a retro-style world map, explore the towns and locales of the region. Farm and mine to earn precious gold. Help local citizens with quests. Fall in love. Then head into the deep dark dungeons.. clear each one, slaughtering monsters and collecting treasure, while slowly the mystery of why you came to this town will begin to unravel.
The farming elements won’t be too complex and there will be a larger focus on clearing dungeons. Each dungeon cleared advances the story forward. But the main goal is freedom for the player.
Why Kickstarter?
The main point of the fundraiser is to have enough money to publish Knightblade on Steam. If there is money left over, then the aim also includes publishing on Google Play as well. Other money goes onto expanding Knightblade along with future updates.
As for rewards, for $10 you are backing for a copy of Knightblade on PC, $75 for the game and your name in the producer credits and $250 for an executive producer credit along with the game. There was another one for $25 to get one of the marriage candidates named after you, but that was limited and no longer available.

There’s still over a month to go, so plenty of time to back. But before you go do that, check out these stunning screenshots of the game.
