Crytek has revealed the next chapter of Hunt: Showdown. The update will launch on 15th August for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Players can look forward to a whole new experience as they leap forward chronologically and head to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, west of the Bayou backwaters.
Alongside this update, Crytek has also announced that the game will showcase the new capabilities of CRYENGINE 5.11. This also means that the game will support 4K60 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and 2K60 on Xbox Series S. All will support HDR.
The first map that has been announced is called Mammon’s Gulch, and in the cinematic trailer we get a look at what’s to come.
On top of that, the original maps set in the Bayou are going to be overhauled and restored. These changes will come post-launch.
Mammon’s Gulch introduces a vast and detailed new biome that will bring hunters into the shadow of the Colorado mountains. This will help towards the added element of enhanced verticality and host plenty of new tactical vantage points.
Whilst there’s plenty up top, there is also hidden mines and oil wells below the surface of the lush forests and hilltops. The map will be separated by train tracks, and it will bring 16 new compounds:

- Grizzly Lodge
- O’Donovan Stone
- Split River Mill
- East Mountain Corn
- Deadfall Timber
- La Plata Mine
- Oro Gordo Mine

- Preston Oil
- Miner’s Folly
Unfortunately, with this latest update, it will also mean the depreciation of the old title on last gen platforms (PS4/Xbox One). All console players will receive an automatic upgrade to the new game at no additional cost. This includes all past purchases and progress.
