With great happiness, we pass on the news that developers Shiro Games and publisher Funcom announce that Dune: Spice Wars will enter Early Access on April 26th 2022.
This marks the first time in over two decades that we will be able to set foot in a Dune game. Return to the land of Arakkis and fight for Spice in this RTS game with 4X elements. Control the Spice, control the planet.
Dune: Spice Wars will pit four factions against other. Yes, four. We get to play from a choice of four, House Atreides, House Harkonnen, The Smugglers, and the newly revealed playable faction, the desert-dwelling Fremen.
“With so many massive Dune fans in the studio, the excitement I see every day of working with this universe is very real. We hope this comes across in the game,” says Sebastien Vidal, CEO of Shiro Games. “With all this passion for the source material and all the know-how we’ve gathered from making Northgard, we can’t wait to put this game into players’ hands.”
Besides publishing Dune: Spice Wars, Funcom is also developing an open-world survival multiplayer game set in the Dune universe.
