So this is an interesting news piece to write up. Dysterra launches today on Steam. It’s essentially Rust meets Halo. This is the first non-VR game that Korean developers Reality MagiQ have worked on.
They have developed a couple of VR games on Steam titled Special Force VR: Infinity War and Space Block Buster. The game is published by Kakao Games and this is their first published title.
Rust Meets Halo
Dysterra is a brand-new futuristic survival game that pays homage to games such as Rust and Halo.
The game takes place in the future on a destroyed planet Earth. Thanks to the discovery of TerraSite, humanity has made rapid progress but the homeworld still faces annihilation.
Players will need to strategise to stay alive whilst they secure food, gear, shelter, and more to survive on the hostile planet. You will forge weapons, and armour, and form alliances with other players in the game. But beware, they may have an ulterior motive and double-cross you!
As mentioned above, fans of games such as Rust will enjoy the survival systems offered in Dysterra. The game contains intuitive base building as well as item crafting.
For each game, you will start with a sidearm and rifle which is certainly better than a rock (Yeah we’re talking about you Rust!). The game will also feature single-player and online multiplayer according to the Steam page.
