Crystal Dynamics has announced that update 2.7 for Marvel’s Avengers is now available. This update brings a brand new four-player Omega-Level threat mission featuring MODOK. Players can venture through the Cloning Lab and take on what is said to be the toughest end-game challenges yet. The update also brings a new playable hero to the rost, the Winter Soldier himself, Bucky Barnes.
The Winter Soldier has arrived!
The update is out now for all platforms. Update 2.7 also brings an increased power level that is now achievable up to 185. The story also continues as the game sees players further into the ongoing Avengers Initiative.
Marvel’s Avengers now offers players several campaigns to play through as well as 11 playable heroes (12 on PlayStation) as well as endless co-op fun for up to four players.
So who is the Winter Soldier? Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers (Captain America) were basically the best of friends until Bucky was “killed”, only to return later as a brain-washed Soviet Assassin, the Winter Soldier. Barnes escaped this and became a good guy thanks to the Avengers.
The new Omega-Level Threat Mission brings back a familiar face, MODOK. MODOK is waiting in the depths of AIM’s (Advanced Idea Mechanics) Cloning Lab. You and up to three other players will have to work your absolute hardest to overcome the challenges that the Cloning Lab will bring to the table. The Cloning Lab is a 175 Power Level challenge but when beaten will give players even more powerful gear. Defeat MODOK before the Scientist Supreme takes control of the world’s most powerful minds.
For those who don’t know, Marvel’s Avengers is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation Plus (Extra and Premium), Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, and Steam, and is rated PEGI 16.
