Mortal Kombat: Onslaught Out Now!

Great news for fans of Mortal Kombat! You can now play the game on the go (other than on Nintendo Switch) thanks to a new release from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games… Enter the ring Mortal Kombat: Onslaught!

This new entry in the world of MK takes the game to mobile platforms (iOS, Google Play Store). It is a cinematic “collection role-playing game” also known as a cRPG. It features team-based kombat set in the universe of MK.

Rolling Out Today!

The game is rolling out to global territories starting today, it’s also free. We’re based in the UK and it is available on the iOS App Store. I’ve had a quick go and it looks like it could be fun, that’s after you download the game, and then the data for the game on first launch at 1.7Gb.

MK: Onslaught will feature an action-packed story centered on Shinnok’s bid for destruction. It’s also the first mobile-exclusive MK title. The game is complete with high quality graphics, bone-krushing kombat, and cinematic cutscenes. Raiden, now a fallen Elder God, seeks to regain his power by gathering relics from across the realms. Players must come to his aid to build a team of fighters that will persevere through massive real-time group battles.

“In Mortal Kombat: Onslaught, players will be able to unleash total mayhem in strategic, fast-paced battles with up to ten characters at once,” said Ed Boon, Chief Creative Officer, NetherRealm Studios and Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat. “Mortal Kombat: Onslaught introduces a new level of strategic gameplay and we’re excited to see how players build their teams to overcome various opponents and challenges.”

Mortal Kombat: Onslaught features a very diverse roster of iconic characters from the MK Universe. We have veterans such as Sub-Zero, Lui Kang, Kitana, and Scorpion. There are also rare fan-favourite variants of klassic kombatants such as Cyrax and Smoke. You will collect and choose from a massive catalogue of Assassins, Snipers, Defenders, and Warriors. Each has their own unique Special Moves, Passive Skills, and affinities.
