Survival: Fountain of Youth launches today on Steam Early Access! This latest game from Odinsoft and Twin Sailes Interactive is a first-person survival game set in the 16th-century Caribbean!
It has also been confirmed that there will be PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions coming out when the game releases version 1.0.
Shipwrecked and Stranded!
The game is set after a legendary expedition in the 16th century to find the Fountain of Youth has gone wrong. The protagonist awakens on an unfamiliar island after a terrible storm destroyed his boat.
Of course, there are limited resources on this island. So players need to get to work to secure shelter, scavenge food and water, all while trying to stay healthy as diseases and predators loom.
Store materials at your base of operations and craft some tools for survival before venturing out. You will be able to find points of interest and clues relating to missing crew members. You’ll also be able to find evidence to a mysterious civilization that once called the islands home.
Survival: Fountain of Youth has two expansive regions for players to explore in the Early Access version. There are plans for two major content updates that will add new regions and islands during Early Access. There will also be a fifth region when the game arrives at version 1.0 alongside the PlayStation and Xbox releases.
The game also has a seafaring mechanic, so you will be able to build a basic raft and travel to other nearby islands. Further into your journey, you will be able to upgrade to Spanish vessels that are more capable of cutting through the waves.
“Survival: Fountain of Youth blends a historical setting with open-ended survival mechanics to create a challenging and rewarding experience for those that love exploration,” said Stas Ignatov, Head of Publishing, Odinsoft. “Entering early access is an adventure unto itself, and we look forward to embarking on this journey with players today on Steam!”
As mentioned above the game is now available on Steam Early Access for PC. It will cost £17.38 after a 10% launch discount that is available through April 26th 2023.
