Studio Abattoir is thrilled to announce that their debut title, The Pines, is coming to PC via Steam in 2027.
The Pines is a psychological horror RPG game where every choice has a consequence.
Further down the page you can see a brand new gameplay trailer that shows off a picturesque therapy retreat that unstable residents, dangerous secrets, and deep conspiracies seem to call home.
The game blends freeform exploration and the character progression of an open-world RPG with tense and oppressive psychological horror. It also brings intuitive investigative gameplay and some brutal combat.
Players will take control of protagonist Edward Walker, a former detective who is seeking solace at The Pines. This place is a remote forest retreat that promises peace, therapy, and recovery. But as we all know, that’s never how things go in games!
The game gives me some Alan Wake vibes, a little. Not a bad thing though!
