Assetto Corsa EVO: Early Access 0.2 Release now available

So, you may have heard of Assetto Corsa in the past. If not, it’s probably one of the biggest racing sims of modern times. Assetto Corsa EVO continues that trend and the 0.2 update brings a lot of new features and fixes.

The update is out now on Steam so if you already own it, jump in and have fun. If you don’t own it, you can purchase it for the standard price of £32.99 on the Steam Store

This latest update brings new features such as Open and Career modes. It also brings seven new cars, two new tracks, and a substantial set of fixes.

New Features:
  • Open Mode is a fully offline experience which allows players to have immediate access to all vehicles and vehicle customization, without any progression or driving license requirement.
  • Career Mode features player progression, integrates the in-game economy and Driving Academy, aiming to provide a progress based experience to players who prefer this gameplay path, additionally, the Career based part of the game can be played without the need for Internet connection.
Added Cars: 
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA: A high-performance version of the historic Alfa Romeo Giulia. The GTA Sprint version takes the already dynamic Giulia to a whole new level with improvements in power, weight reduction, and handling.
  • Lotus Exige V6 Cup: A top-tier variant of the Lotus Exige sports car, known for its lightweight construction, incredible agility, and track-ready capabilities. It represents the pinnacle of the Exige lineup, offering an even more focused and enhanced driving experience.
  • Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964): A powerful version and a significant evolution of the Porsche 911 that was introduced in the late 1980s. This version of the 911 Turbo is particularly notable for its 3.6-liter engine, which delivered both increased power and a more refined driving experience compared to earlier 911 Turbo models.
  • Mazda MX-5 (NA): Commonly known as the first-generation MX-5 Miata, is a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports car that was first introduced in 1989. Developed by Mazda to capture the essence of small, fun-to-drive roadsters from the past. The NA model quickly became beloved by enthusiasts worldwide for its simplicity, agility, and engaging driving experience. It is still nowadays a cult main character for the entire community of sportscars enthusiasts. Coming with different customizable parts.
  • Honda NSX-R: a very rare and highly specialized version of the Honda NSX and a standout in Honda’s performance car lineup. The NSX is known for its lightweight construction, balanced handling, and engineering excellence .Developed with input from racing legend Ayrton Senna. The NSX-R R92 is a more track-oriented version of the NSX. It represents a limited-production model built in the early 1990s.
  • Maserati GT2: The Maserati GT2 represents an epic comeback of the Italian brand to the most relevant GT racing of the GT2 Championship by SRO Motorsports Group. This car combines all the experience collected in many years of racing by Maserati and delivers a sweet vehicle to drive, and a real beast on track.
  • Alfa Romeo 75 1.8 Turbo Evoluzione: The Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione (often referred to as the Alfa 75 Turbo Evo) is a special, high-performance version of the Alfa 75, produced in the late 1980s. This version also benefited from upgraded suspension components and a more aggressive aerodynamics package. The Alfa 75 Turbo Evo remains a notable example of Alfa Romeo’s engineering prowess and passion for motorsport. It combines Italian style with a thrilling driving experience.

New Tracks: 
  • Circuit of the Americas: The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a world-renowned motorsport venue located in Austin, Texas, USA. Inaugurated in 2012, the track was designed to host high-level motorsport events. Including Formula 1, MotoGP, the World Endurance Championship, and several other competitions. The circuit spans 3.4 miles (5.5 kilometers) and features 20 turns with several elevation changes and fast sweeping corners. These require high levels of downforce and precision, offering a unique challenge for drivers.
  • Donington Park: Donington Park is a renowned motorsport circuit located in Leicestershire, England, known for its rich history and picturesque setting. Originally built in the 1930s, it has evolved into one of the UK’s most famous racing venues. The circuit is famous for hosting major events across various motorsport disciplines. This includes Formula 1, MotoGP, and the British Superbike Championship. Its length is approximately 2.5 miles (4.0 kilometers). It features a mix of fast straights and challenging corners, making it a popular track for both drivers and spectators.
Additional Game Mode: 
  • Custom Race Weekend: this new mode will allow players to design their own complete race event including Practice, Qualifying and Warm Up before the Race event itself, both in laps or time based sessions.

So that’s a lot of information to soak up. But, that’s not all. The new update also debuts the brand-new Replay Gallery. This allows players to save replay files and revisit their fastest laps or even entire races.

You’ll be able to change the camera and play the replay in slow motion. Also. you can save the replay file which will allow you to keep it at your disposal. The Replay Gallery will also allow users to create video content such as highlights or even tutorials.

The team are also working hard on optimisation of the game. Particularly for users who use triple screen or VR setups.

There is also another aspect worthy of being mentioned. That is the job that has been done on AI enhancements, this brings a new custom AI opponents generation page.
