Dune: Spice Wars, an Arrakis 4X strategy game by Shiro Games and published by Funcom, will exit Early Access on September 14th.
The upcoming full release of the game will feature the sixth major content update since it first entered Early Access. This update will introduce the wealthy and politically savvy House Ecaz. This adds to the existing six factions that are all competing for control over the valuable spice. As the pursuit of power continues, it remains as unpredictable as the shifting sands of Arrakis.
During Early Access, Dune: Spice Wars has been constantly refined and expanded with the help of a clear content plan and updates based on feedback.
The new arrivals, House Ecaz, wield power like a paintbrush. They will rapidly expand their influence across the hostile canvas of Arrakis, where sun and sandworms devour all. The prestige of their artworks grants them unique power over the Landsraad, letting them stand toe-to-toe with even the Atreides in terms of political clout.
Dune: Spice Wars is a real-time grand strategy 4X game that offers numerous ways to achieve planetary domination and control over the spice. Whether you choose to play solo or multiplayer, you can gain an advantage through a variety of means. Work with intrigue, warfare, politics, industry, and subterfuge. Do whatever you can to survive Arrakis.
Dune: Spice Wars draws upon the narrative of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi masterpiece, Dune, for its foundation and design. This influence goes beyond just the setting and adds elements of epic scope, Machiavellian plotting, and brutal backstabbing to the gameplay. The tutorials provide clarity, and the systems and mechanics are easy to learn but difficult to master.
