Founded in 2023 and already showcasing a playable demo at Gamescom: The all-women team from Berlin-based studio Selkies Interactive is presenting Echoes of Mora to the public for the first time.
At the Homes of Indies booth in the Indie Area, Selkies Interactive invites visitors on an exclusive underwater journey. A mysterious world awaits, ready to be explored while swimming, either in VR or non-VR mode.

In a flooded, abandoned village, players uncover hidden clues and help the young protagonist, Mora, search for her missing brother. Along the way, they solve puzzles and activate so-called Echoes. These time portals reveal moments from the village’s past. Through time travel, players can experience the settlement before it was submerged and may even have a chance to stop the flood.
“Echoes of Mora is a true passion project. It brings together all our creative ideas and the different perspectives within our team,” says Meike Strippel, Co-Founder and Lead Artist at Selkies Interactive. “We want to create a world that is not only visually stunning, but also emotionally engaging and fascinating. We are incredibly excited to let players experience it for the first time at Gamescom.”
