Gameplay and Features of Kitsune Tails

Guide the young half-fox/half-human messenger Yuzu, voiced by Kira Buckland (the voice of NieR: Automata’s 2B), as she travels through worlds filled with legendary Japanese folklore. As the herald of the god Inari, Yuzu must run, jump, and collect power-ups. The experience captures the feel of the golden age of 8-bit platforming while incorporating modern quality-of-life features, inspiring the gameplay.

Become a snowfox, run on water wearing a shark onesie, and more to master an elemental wheel of options. Leap over hurdles of the heart in an LGBTQ+ themed story. Help Yuzu rescue her imprisoned love interest Akko from magical captivity. Why did Yuzu’s childhood friend-turned-rival Kiri imprison her, anyway?

“Yuzu’s tale is so dear to our hearts. We’re so excited to not only share with you all her story, but to see what the community creates in return. We see our community’s passion and want to foster that creativity with an accessible set of game-design tools. Kitsune Tails is just the start — we can’t wait to see where the community takes things from here.” – Eniko Fox, Founder, Kitsune Games.
