Oh my god folks! Planet Coaster 2 has officially been announced by Frontier Developments! Not only that… There will be the addition of those water-based rides!
Of course, this is an official follow-up to the 2016 smash hit, Planet Coaster. PlanCo2 is going to give us the ultimate coaster park experience as it will bring all-new water park gameplay.
Planet Coaster 2 Will Introduce Waterparks!
The trailer, which you can see further down the page, looks brilliant! – But please take note that it is a pre-alpha in-engine trailer. So things could change. However, from what we see in the trailer it looks like an improved version of Planet Coaster so it could stay that way.
Planet Coaster 2 will bring the next level to us with incredible attractions, stunning scenery, and authentic management. It’s up to you to give your guests an unforgettable day out by putting your creativity to the test across three engaging game modes.
As mentioned, the sequel will allow us to create an authentic water park experience. We can do this by providing changing rooms, sunbeds, lifeguards, and more. Some of the water rides include flumes, wave pools, lazy rivers, and of course, water coasters.
Players will also be able to fully unleash their imagination as they customise rides. You’ll be able to use the Enhanced Event Sequencer tool which will combine smoke, sound, water jets, and animatronics. Create dazzling displays through the individual rides and create a truly unique experience for the guests.
The three game modes you can look forward to is Career Mode where you will see your way through a variety of set scenarios. Franchise mode will allow you to create a global park network. Finally, there is Sandbox mode where you can just go wild with your creativity.
Planet Coaster 2 is currently set to launch in Autumn 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
You will be able to learn more by watching the Frontier Unlocked live streams on the final Wednesday of every month. You’ll be able to watch these on their YouTube channel.
