The year is 2035, and a cataclysmic event reshaped our entire world… This left behind a chilling and frozen wasteland known only as the Permafrost.
Permafrost is an online co-op action-adventure game with survival elements that, of course, is set in an uber cold world. The game is being developed by SpaceRocket Games and published by Toplitz Productions (Industry Giant 4.0, Starsand) and is planned to be released in 2025 on Steam. For now, you can play the free demo to give the game a go and see if it ticks the boxes for you to add it to your wishlist!
I will say that the graphics look absolutely beautiful… Which is always a great bonus with a game. Especially survival games as it can help immerse you into the experience.
When the game had a demo during October 2024 where it collected a very positive rating on Steam from players, and so far, it has received over 300,000 downloads.
Whilst the game is primarily made to be played online with your friends, you can play it on your own in single player world accompanied only by your trusted doggo.
You will need the sheer will to survive in Permafrost. You will explore, cultivate crops, harness the power of technology, and more whilst you try to survive in this frozen post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Of course, you will need to fight off sub-zero temperatures. Not only that, but they can also affect your character’s capabilities. You will need to hunt elusive prey, craft the tools you need, and utilise salvaged machinery to combat the Permafrost.
