Solo developer Nullpointer Games is excited to announce the release of a new demo for its upcoming occult card-crafting narrative RPG, The Horror at Highrook. The demo is now available for download on Steam, just in time for the game’s participation in Steam Next Fest later this month.
In The Horror at Highrook, players take on the role of a team of occult investigators as they venture into the ominous Highrook Manor. Their mission is to search for the Ackeron family, a noble lineage that has mysteriously vanished amid rumours of dark pacts and sinister rituals.
As players explore the haunted estate grounds, they will summon dark entities and craft powerful protections in a bid to uncover the fate of the missing family, all the while choosing their own path through the darkness.
The Horror at Highrook is a unique and clever puzzle game that provides deeply rewarding, tabletop-inspired gameplay along with engaging card manipulation. Set against a backdrop of gothic horror, the game unfolds as you explore the dark manor and uncover its secrets. The experience is enhanced by striking illustrations and satisfying animations that bring the story to life.
The Next Fest demo will introduce players to the deviously clever systems that lie at the dark heart of the game. At the same time, it will slowly embrace them with its enigmatic narrative.
