Art of Play Interactive and King Features officially announce the release date for their latest comic-born property adaption, The Phantom. The arcade brawler will begin digital sales on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, March 12th. PC players can experience the demo starting today on Steam as a part of Steam Next Fest: February Edition 2025.
A 90-Year Legacy
The Phantom celebrates nearly 90 years of comics’ first costumed hero. Known as “The Ghost Who Walks,” Kit Walker fights injustice. He defends the fictional country of Bengalla against piracy and greed. Almost a century after his creation, Art of Play brings this hero to PC and console. They partner with King Features for this project. It combines traditional comic styling with classic brawler mechanics. This creates a genuine tribute to the beloved character. Art of Play leads the game’s artistic development. The game features a hand-drawn art style that honours The Phantom’s comic origins.
A Classic Brawler For A Classic Character
The Phantom is an arcade-style beat-em-up coming to PC and consoles. Play as The Phantom or his partner, Diana Palmer, in this 14-level adventure. The feared pirates of the Singh Brotherhood are battling for power and threatening The Phantom’s legacy, and it’s up to you to stop them. Use your hand-to-hand fighting skills and trusty weapons to dispatch this evil, and call in assistance from your animal friends Fraka the falcon and Devil the wolf. The Phantom features a brand-new story approved by King Features. Experience this canon addition through full-screen cut scenes and captivating in-game visuals. These elements are hand-illustrated and animated frame-by-frame by seasoned comic book artists and Art Of Play’s dedicated in-house 2D creative team.

Eager fans can experience the PC demo for The Phantom on Steam as a part of Steam Next Fest. Available now, the first three levels set the stage as The Phantom’s fight to take on the piracy, greed, and the cruelty of the Singh brotherhood leads him across the globe. Single-player and 2-player co-op available.
