Welcome to my mini review of Fae Farm which is available now on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. It is developed and published by Phoenix Labs who are known for Dauntless.
Fae Farm is an RPG farming sim where players can escape to the magical life of their dreams. You will get to meet charming characters, discover ways to fuse magic, and unfold the mysteries of the island.

The Game
So to kick off my review, I will start by saying that I fell in love with Fae Farm almost immediately. The graphic style drew me straight in, the game looks bloody gorgeous.
Seriously, it looks absolutely beautiful, especially at 4K. The game also natively supports 21:9 ultrawide resolution as I tested it on my 21:9 3840x1440p screen.
Anyway, the gameplay… That’s great too.
Whilst playing Fae Farm, for some reason I kept thinking of Stardew Valley. That, of course, is by no means a bad thing. I love SV. At first, this game comes across as a 3D version of SV, but it’s really not.
It has enough in the game that makes it stand way, way apart from the likes of the aforementioned game. On top of that, it has received quite a few free content updates as well as a paid DLC titled Coasts of Croakia. You can also play the game via online co-op with up to three friends, totalling four of you working together in the land of Azoria.
When you first start the game, you are given the chance to customise your own character with quite a large selection of styles of hair, beards, clothing… you get the idea.
Once you get passed the intro of the game, you can essentially crack on and take the world by storm however you want to. Farm, fight, upgrade your cottage… It’s all here. Even fishing!
Of course there are some basics you’ll need to do before you can go everywhere, such as find certain tools by doing particular quests for the residents of the land of Azoria.
Most of these quests are quite simple, but nonetheless they add to the cuteness of Fae Farm. Seriously, this game will never upset you or make you feel sad, it’s just adorable.
Once you have the essentials out of the way, you can then build your massive farmstead and start making some serious coin. There is quite the variety of crops for you to plant and grow. Some of these are also seasonal, which means you can only grow them in a particular season. As an example, Winter means you can grow Fennel and Rye. Whereby Summer will let you grow Eggplants and Wheat. There is a lot to learn about this game so it may take some time for you to get into it properly, so have some patience.
On top of growing crops, you will also learn (and master!) magic and potion brewing. Of course, you can also use the magic and potions around the world to help you in your battles.
Battles? Yes. There are battles in the game too, you will need to take on creatures from around the land of Azoria. Although don’t worry as the combat isn’t very challenging to be fair.
Conclusions
To finish up the review, I thought that Fae Farm is a fantastic game. Everything about it has the charm that I love about cosy games such as Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and Terraria.
The graphics are very nice, the audio is a nice tune to ones ears, and the gameplay is simple yet very fun. The game also runs very well on the Steam Deck and has native 21:9 support.
I give Fae Farm a score of 10/10.
