Welcome to my first review of 2026! Today I bring you my thoughts of the Edifier ES60 Bluetooth speaker.
What did my ears think of the Edifier ES60? Continue reading to find out!
The Hardware
In the box we have the speaker, the usual leaflets and quick start guide, a wrist strap, and a charging cable.
I was kindly sent the “white” colourway of the ES60 for my review. There are two colour options, black, and of course white. I would say that the white colourway is more like an ivory or cream colour. Still, it looks quite nice.
Straight out of the box I was intrigued by the design. Both sides of the unit has a speaker grill, this allows the device to give us a real sense of 360° audio. So, I read the manual. You’ll know that by me writing this next sentence:

The Edifier ES60 Bluetooth speaker features dual 0.75″ dome tweeters, a passive bass radiator (no it doesn’t keep you warm), and a powerful oval “mid-bass long-throw driver”. To me this is essentially technical jargon to make it sound good on paper. But boy, it does sound pretty good in practice too!
On the top it has the usual array of buttons, plus a button for the light (more below). There’s also lights to indicate battery life, as well as microphone holes to help with your phone calls.
The unit can deliver 34 watts (RMS) of clean sound from your connected devices. Be that a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, PC, MacBook, whatever has Bluetooth you can probably connect to this. One feature that genuinely surprised me was the IP66 dust and water resistance rating.
This speaker goes pretty damn loud too. The only thing I wasn’t too keen on was that when connected to the Edifier ConneX app, I couldn’t see anywhere to change the equaliser settings. I usually tweak the EQ to my liking but couldn’t seem to do that without a third party app. There are preset sound modes though.
Speaking of the ConneX app, this does allow you to update the devices firmware as well as control music through the app. One thing I must note is the microphone certainly seems clear from calls I took whilst using the speaker.

Design
The Edifier ES60 has grills on either side, this makes it a rather unique looking bit of hardware. Well, from what I’ve seen anyway. There is a single USB-C port on the back, which be used not only to charge the device, but to connect it to hardware too.
For example, if you have a USB-A to USB-C cable, you could whack the cable into your PC or laptop and use it as a small speaker.

Oh also, the device has a light on the bottom. Not sure why, but it looks cool and can be switched between a solid cool white, a fading in/out warm white, and off. There is also a super good function with this light where you can double tap the light button and it will then flash a red light from the bottom, this is called emergency mode. Great idea!
Conclusions
Although it’s fairly small, I was rather impressed with the Edifier ES60. At the time of writing, this costs £119.99 on Amazon.
I personally think if it was a bit cheaper, it would be an absolute bargain. However, at that price point, it’s still a pretty impressive bit of kit.
I give the Edifier ES60 a 9/10 and I highly recommend it. Now that you’re done here, you can also read our previous hardware reviews.
