Now this is an interesting bit of handheld gaming hardware!
The AISLPC Pocket AIS has been revealed, with a custom operating system, automatic cooling and an enhanced speaker design. There are a few interesting details here, particularly for those of us who like to tinker with our gaming devices, which fortunately, I do!
One of the biggest points is the software powering the device, alongside some useful features designed to make gaming a little more straightforward.
Ais OS: A Custom Operating System
The Pocket AIS runs on Ais OS, a custom operating system based on Rocknix, featuring a completely new custom user interface.
The idea is to provide a straightforward, intuitive, ready-to-use experience without requiring users to spend ages configuring their device before they can get gaming.
For those who prefer a little more control, a community version of Rocknix will also be available. This should appeal to more experienced users who enjoy customising their devices and exploring the possibilities offered by alternative software.
It’s always good to see manufacturers catering for both sides of the handheld gaming community, whether you simply want to pick up your device and play or prefer to get stuck into the more technical side of things.
Smart Automatic Cooling System
Another interesting feature is the Pocket AIS’s automatic cooling system.
The device features a five-level fan speed control system that monitors its temperature and automatically adjusts the fan speed depending on the workload. In other words, you won’t need to keep fiddling with fan settings yourself.
When the system temperature exceeds 70°C, the fan automatically switches to full speed to help manage heat during more demanding gaming sessions.
Under normal conditions, the system is designed to keep fan operation quiet, increasing cooling performance when needed. This should help the device adapt to different workloads without making the fan unnecessarily noisy when you’re enjoying less demanding games.
Of course, it’ll be interesting to see how well this works in real-world testing, particularly during longer gaming sessions.
Enhanced Audio Design
Sound is another area AISLPC has paid attention to with the Pocket AIS.
The device uses an independently designed and moulded speaker system with dedicated acoustic chambers. According to the details provided, this design allows the audio system to be further optimised compared with other models.
A decent set of speakers can make a surprising difference to a handheld gaming device, especially when you’re playing without headphones. Better audio can help make games feel more immersive, whether you’re exploring a world, listening to a soundtrack or getting stuck into some action.
We’ll have to wait for hands-on testing to see just how much of a difference the new speaker design makes.

Final Thoughts
The AISLPC Pocket AIS looks to be an interesting addition to the handheld gaming space, with Ais OS, automatic five-level cooling and a redesigned speaker system forming the main highlights of its feature set.
I’m particularly interested in seeing how the custom operating system performs and how much flexibility the community version of Rocknix will offer to those who like to customise their handhelds.
The automatic cooling system also sounds promising, although real-world testing will be the best way to determine how effectively it balances temperature, performance and noise. All of this wrapped into a $169.99 price tag could be very interesting.
