Welcome to our list of Ten Great Games on PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium. The list below will be aimed primarily at PS5 however I have tried to include some games that are playable on PS4 too. This isn’t necessarily the top ten games on PS Plus Extra/Premium at the moment, this is just ten (or so…) great games I think people should play.
So let’s get cracking with the list of games. Please note, that the list is in no particular order.
Returnal (PS5)
Returnal is a third-person roguelike shooter that is, at times, as hard as a bag of hard things. It’s developed by Housemarque and looks incredible on the PS5. Since it originally launched it’s had a couple of major updates, one of which is the addition of an online co-op mode so you can party up with a buddy and rain hell on your foes.
Demon’s Souls (PS5 Remake)
I know, this was on my previous post about games being good blah blah blah. But seriously… It is that good for me. The fact it’s included with the new PS Plus platform kind of blows my mind a bit as this still sells for £69.99 on the PlayStation Store!
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (PS4 and PS5 Versions)
Assassin’s Creed and Vikings. What more could you want from an open-world game? This time around sees players play as the fearless viking warrior, Eivor. Travel around in Norway and also England in the years 872-878 AD. It’s pretty much your typical Assassin’s Creed game. Go here, conquer that, collect this, you get the idea. It’s still great fun though.
Concrete Genie (PS4 – Playable on PS5)
This is an action-adventure game from developers PixelOpus. The game sees you playing as Ash in the town of Denska and uses a lot of focus on the motion controls of the Dual Shock 4. The main aim of the game is to eliminate the Darkness that has taken over Denska and return it to its former glory.
Detroit: Become Human (PS4 – Playable on PS5)
Quantic Dreams 2018 smash hit will see players take control of various androids throughout the story. The game has approximately 85 endings, so will see you through many hours of playtime. There is a lot of overlap in the story and its different endings though, so you may see a lot of the stuff a fair few times. Still, it’s a beautiful-looking game and takes full advantage of the Dual Shock 4 controller.
Enter the Gungeon (PS4 – Playable on PS5)
Ahhh, Enter the Gungeon. This is a favourite of mine, I’ve played it on many platforms and spent many hours playing it since it was developed by Dodge Roll in 2016. It’s full of bullet hell rogue-like goodness that will leave you craving for more. The game is full of tons of secrets and will take you many, many attempts to clear a run. It can be quite stressful but if you keep your patience it’s fun as hell.
Syphon Filter (PlayStation Classics Library – Playable on PS4 & PS5)
In Syphon Filter you play as Gabriel “Gabe” Logan tasked by the US Government to take down German international terrorists. This game is full of stealth, but you can go all guns blazing if you wish to. There are also puzzle-based elements in the game.
Ape Escape (PlayStation Classics Library – Playable on PS4 & PS5)
This series started in 1999 and was one of the first games to make use of the DualShock thumbsticks mandatory. It’s a great series of games but I will always love the first. It’s rather simple but is very fun just to run around catching the apes as the protagonist, Spike.
God of War Games (PlayStation Classics Library – Playable on PS4 & PS5)
Kratos. The God of War. What’s not to love about this cute, cuddly, tattooed monster of a demigod? I’m a huge fan of the reboot of the franchise that came out in 2018. The original games are also fantastic, so check them out.
- God of War HD
- God of War II HD
- God of War III Remastered
- God of War: Ascension
Lego Games (PlayStation Classics Library – Playable on PS4 & PS5)
Everyone loves LEGO games. There are many LEGO games for many different franchises now and the below are available on the PlayStation Classics Library now.
- LEGO Batman: The Videogame
- LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
- LEGO Harry Potter Collection
- LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
- LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues
- LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game
- LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
- LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
So that’s it for our list of Ten Great Games on PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium. Of course, there is an absolute boatload of games for you to choose from and these are only a handful of what’s available. Some other fantastic games on there are the likes of Jak and Daxter, Infamous, Bioshock, and many more.
