Max Payne Remakes On The Way

Oh my word, this is some fantastic news, readers. Max Payne 1 and 2 are returning in the form of a remake, in one single product.

Developers Remedy has announced that Max Payne will return for PlayStation 5 in partnership with Rockstar Games. The remakes will be developed using Remedy’s game engine “Northlight”. The PS2 classics are a very much welcomed return to video games. There is no release date at present.

Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games, said: “We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games. We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years, and we can’t wait to play these new versions.”

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala explains how Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy. “We’re hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”

I can’t wait for these, I absolutely loved this trilogy. I know the third in the series wasn’t the most popular compared to the first two. But for me, it was a great game regardless. The remakes are currently in the concept development stage.

Let us know in the comments if you’re looking forward to this when it hits PS5. You can also check out our previous news. Check out the 20-year anniversary video from Remedy below. It’s amazing.
