Horror fans rejoice! Phasmophobia early access has officially been confirmed for consoles and will be hitting them just in time for Halloween! We can expect to see the game on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on October 29th. It will also have PS VR2 support. It has also been said that players will be able to team up and play across platforms.
Phasmophobia is available now for PC, and soon the Xbox/PlayStation consoles for £16.75.
The game originally launched on Steam Early Access in September 2020. It has sold almost 20 million copies (globally) to date, with over 550,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews.
If you haven’t heard of Phasmophobia before, it’s a ghost hunting game where a team consisted of you and your friends go into buildings and try to track down the spooks.
Make sure you wear your brown trousers!
Personally, I found the game got quite boring. However, that’s just my experience and the number of reviews and copies sold tell you that it must be a good game.
“We are so happy to see Phasmophobia enter console early access” Stated Daniel Knight, CEO and Lead Developer at Kinetic Games “the community has been asking for console versions, and has waited a little while for it to happen. The development team at Kinetic Games have worked exceptionally hard to make this request a reality.”
To celebrate this news and the amazing community that Phasmophobia has, Kinetic Games has announced a special Halloween event. The event will include, for the first time, a community goal-oriented task where players can work together to permanently unlock the Blood Moon weather in the game. The progress toward the goal is counted across all platforms. Players will also be able to unlock a new badge and trophy by completing different community goals.
Finally, it has been said that the PC version will also receive an update. This will improve general performance, fix community reported bugs, and there will be a new event board implemented. This board will bring new challenges and rewards for you.
