The Last Caretaker Launches Update 5: New Horizons

Channel37 has released the latest update for their survival game, The Last Caretaker.

The update, titled New Horizons, brings lots of new features to the Early Access game. It is available now on Steam and Epic Games Store for £26.99 and is said to receive a 20% discount dropping the price to £21.59. But, at the time of writing the discount has not yet been applied.

Either way, the game looks fantastic even for £26.99.

The New Horizons update for The Last Caretaker brings a shift in the player’s role. The previous updates for the game focused on survival, preservation, and recovery. Whereas Update 05 introduces Project Eden… This begins the next stage, rebuilding.

Players will now be able to gather samples and send their discoveries into space. You’ll be able to recover fragments of lost culture from the past by finding statues and cave paintings. But, that’s not all, you’ll also be able to construct Eden modules, cultivate new trees and plants, as well as unlock progression systems that are tied directly to humanity’s long-term future.
