Edifier G1000 II Speakers Review

Welcome to my review of the Edifier G1000 II gaming speakers.

The Edifier G1000 II come in three different colours to suit you, and the choices are black, white, and pink. For the purpose of this review I was kindly sent the white option.

Continue reading to find out what I thought of these speakers.

The Hardware

Inside of the box, we have the usual you’d expect with speakers, the user guides and warranty card, a 3.5mm cable, there is also a USB C to USB A adapter to help with connecting these speakers to a variety of devices.

So, as you may have guessed already the speakers support input via Bluetooth 5.4, USB, and 3.5mm auxiliary.

This means you can connect up your PC and listen to your games through the USB option, for example. You could also connect via Bluetooth to an iPad, as well as say a laptop via the 3.5mm connection. You just need to ensure that you’ve plugged the speakers into a USB port for power. The speakers provide up to 8w of peak power through the 2.5″ drivers.

Not only do we have those options, we also have RGB on these speakers. Nine options to be precise. As we know, RGB makes things better.

Personally, I love the white colourway compared to the black or pink. I believe it helps the futuristic look show through more. In fact I would go as far as saying they’re pretty damn beautiful.

Not only do they look surprisingly nice, they also sounded better than I expected too. Usually, I find USB powered speakers to be very lacklustre. However, the Edifier G1000 II are not. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not going to fill a larger room with clear audio, however, if you have a small office/room that you play your video games in then these will be great. At the time of writing these cost £39.99 on Amazon with an RRP of £69.99.

At the lower price I would say these are impressive. However, at the RRP I would not be that impressed with them personally.

All of the controls for the speakers are situated on top of the right speaker. There is a power/input change button, a volume shifter which clicks up or down for the volume, and of course the lighting button.

You can easily switch out the EQ mode with a button on top, this allows you to switch between three modes:

  • Music – Red lights
  • Gaming – Blue lights
  • Movie – Pink lights
Key Features:
  • 2.5″ Full-Range Driver with 16-Core Magnetic Circuit
  • Racetrack-Shaped Bass Reflex Port
  • Perfect Fit for Small Desktops
  • 9 Dynamic RGB Lighting Effects
  • All-in-One Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4 / AUX / USB-A / USB-C
  • Pro-Grade EQ Presets – Triple the Audio Experience

Conclusions

The Edifier G1000 II actually surprised me. They sound pretty good for USB powered speakers. In my experience, USB powered speakers are usually lacking in sound quality. That’s not the case with these. However, unlike the Edifier G2000 I previously reviewed, these do not have a port for a dedicated subwoofer.

Just make sure you buy these at the lower price point (on offer) instead of the RRP of £69.99. You can definitely get better speakers for the RRP.

I give the Edifier G1000 II speakers a score of 8/10.
