I’ve reviewed quite a few SoundPEATS products on here over the years – from the Air5 Pro series that became daily drivers, to the Space over-ears that surprised me at their price point, which I still use regularly. I’ve come to expect one thing: they deliver way more than you’d think for the money. So when the SoundPEATS Cove Pro over-ear headphones landed, I was keen to see how they’d stack up. Can they replace my over-ear needs that the Space headphones provide?
What really stands out with the Soundpeats Cove Pro, though, is just how much tech they’ve packed in for the price. You’re getting features that usually sit way above this bracket. Things like adaptive -56dB ANC and LDAC support, which are still rare to see on sub‑£70 over‑ears. SoundPEATS have been pushing this performance‑to‑cost ratio for a while, but the Cove Pro feel like another step up, offering flagship‑style specs without the flagship price tag. Exactly why I love SoundPEATS.
I’ve been using these exclusively for the past couple of weeks for everything from typing sessions and gaming to walks and casual listening. So let’s see how they stack up.

Design & Comfort
The Cove Pro have that familiar SoundPEATS vibe. A clean, matte finish with subtle branding accents that don’t scream for attention. They’re available in a few colours (I went with black, as usual – it just looks sharp), and the build feels solid without being heavy. The earcups are nicely padded with soft protein leather that doesn’t get too warm during longer sessions, and the headband has just enough flex and cushioning to avoid hot spots.
Design-wise, there’s a major difference between these and the Space. A change I wasn’t really expecting. The Space headphones lean into SoundPEATS branding – the logo is huge and stylish. I was expecting a nice, subtle, but large logo on the Cove Pros. Instead, we get minimalism. There’s just the word “SoundPeats” in black on black headphones. It’s subtle. It’s stylish. Just not what I was expecting, and that’s not a complaint, as they look really good.

Weight-wise, they’re impressively light for over-ears with ANC. It is similar to the Space but with a slightly more premium feel to the adjusters and hinges. They fold up neatly (though no carry case is included, which would’ve been a nice touch), and they sit comfortably without clamping too hard. I can wear them for hours without fatigue, and they don’t slide around much during movement. If you found the Space comfy but wanted something with a bit more isolation, these feel like a natural step up.
Sound Quality
SoundPEATS keep raising the bar, and the Cove Pro don’t disappoint. Out of the box, you get a balanced profile with punchy bass that hits hard without muddying the mids – think the satisfying low-end of the Capsule3 Pro+ but scaled to over-ears. Vocals are clear and forward, highs are crisp without being harsh, and there’s a decent soundstage for the price. It’s not audiophile reference-level, but it’s engaging and fun for music, podcasts, and games.
Where the Cove Pro really flexes its technical muscle is in the combination of its -56dB adaptive ANC, LDAC support, and titanium‑plated drivers. The titanium diaphragm gives the 40mm drivers a tighter, more controlled response. Details come through cleanly without harshness. Switch to LDAC, and you immediately get a bump in clarity and separation, with instruments feeling more defined and spacious. Pair that with the ANC performance, and you get a listening experience that feels far more premium than the price suggests. This is exactly what I’ve come to expect from SoundPEATS.

The PeatsAudio app lets you tweak things with EQ presets or manual adjustments, and I found dialling in a slight bass boost or clarity tweak made them even better for my tastes. Bass mode is one hell of a difference, especially with ANC on.
ANC, Transparency & Calls
ANC is solid for the price – better than I expected, blocking out office chatter, traffic hum, and fan noise effectively. It’s not top-tier flagship level, but it’s miles ahead of what you’d get from most budget over-ears. In heavy traffic, you can still hear the traffic. But, importantly, you can still clearly hear the music you’re listening to. Transparency mode is natural enough for quick conversations without yanking them off.
Call quality is clear on my end, with good noise suppression for mics. Wind noise is handled reasonably well, though heavy gusts can still creep in a bit. This is always a problem for me, but that’s the joys of living by the sea. It’s windy.
Battery Life & Extras
Battery is a strong point. It’s actually pretty incredible. You can get up to 95 hours of playback time. Sure, you need some specific settings to achieve this, but they’re not unreasonable settings – AAC, ANC off, and 50% volume. Don’t let the 50% volume put you off with that, either. These can go loud! I spent my time on around 70%, and I’m not sure I’d go much louder than that.
You get plenty of hours per charge with ANC on, and the case-free design means quick top-ups via USB-C. Multi-point connection works smoothly if you’re switching between devices, and Bluetooth stability has been rock-solid. If you’re a traveller or a student, the Cove Pros would be a great option thanks to their battery life and quick charging. Ten minutes can get you up to eleven hours of use. That’s impressive.

Conclusion
SoundPEATS keep doing what they do best – packing impressive features and performance into something that doesn’t cost that much. The Cove Pro feel like a refined take on over-ear ANC headphones. It’s comfortable for all-day wear, surprisingly good sound with app customisation, effective noise cancelling, and that reliable build quality I’ve come to expect. And they look classy.
They’re not flawless – no wireless charging or included pouch – but at their price point, they punch well above their weight. If you’ve enjoyed other SoundPEATS earbuds or the Space headphones and want over-ears that can become your go-to for work, travel or chilling, these are a no-brainer. SoundPEATS still offer the best value around for what you get.
I rate the SoundPEATS Cove Pro a solid 9/10. They’ve quickly become my default headphones when I don’t want in-ears, and I can see them sticking around for a long time.
