Soundpeats POP Clip Earbuds Review

Earlier this year, I reviewed the Soundpeats Pearl Clip Pro earbuds. While I wasn’t completely convinced by their design, I could still recognise their usefulness and the unique form factor compared to what I had used before. For people who go to the gym or who run would find these incredibly useful. I appreciate trying something different from my previous experiences. So with the opportunity to try the Soundpeats POP Clip earbuds, I thought, why not? Let’s see what the big differences are. Can I be converted finally?

Design & Comfort

The Soundpeats POP Clip earbuds take a fresh approach to clip-on design, offering a case that I massively prefer compared to its predecessor. While it may seem cheaper in construction, it aligns well with the aesthetic of other SoundPeats products, making it feel more cohesive within the brand’s lineup. It has a nicer feel, isn’t a fingerprint magnet, and is just better overall. The case is an underrated item for earbuds, and this is what I want to see. It’s more “SoundPeats”, and although it might feel like it’s cheaper, it’s also a much better feel – yes, I’m about textures! Other than some soft-touch cases, like my older Samsung earbuds, this is the kind of case that I love. And the design is lovely, being slightly larger and thicker.

The earbuds themselves feel like they clip onto the ear more securely than the previous model, providing a snug fit that stays in place even during movement. However, this improved grip comes with a trade-off – users may find themselves more aware of the earbuds compared to the PearlClip Pro, which had a slightly more subtle presence. Weirdly, despite actually being lighter, even though they’re bigger than the PearlClip Pro’s, they feel heavier on the ear. Not uncomfortably so, and maybe just because they’re bigger, so you’re more aware of them.

Despite this, the lightweight build ensures they remain comfortable for extended wear. The 4.73g weight per earbud makes them one of the lightest clip-on options available, reducing strain on the ears. The memory wire and TPU material used in their construction allow for a flexible yet stable fit, adapting to different ear shapes. You never feel like you’ll snap them when putting them on your ears. The POP Clip also come with physical button controls that provide a tactile experience, eliminating accidental touches that often plague touch-sensitive earbuds.

Sound Playback

SoundPeats has packed an impressive level of audio performance into the POP Clip earbuds. The 10.8mm dual-magnet drivers provide a well-rounded sound profile, with clear highs and mids that excel in vocal-heavy tracks and podcasts. Although the bass isn’t as deep as what you might find in traditional in-ear models, the PU+LCP composite diaphragm ensures a punchy low end that avoids sounding hollow. The open-ear design naturally limits bass resonance, but the earbuds counter this with a dynamic EQ algorithm that enhances clarity and spatial awareness, making them perfect for casual listening. If you prefer more base, though, then the PearlClip Pro’s offer more with their larger drivers.

One standout feature is the C-shaped bidirectional wind noise chamber, which reduces wind interference by 25% compared to standard microphone designs. This ensures clearer call quality, even in breezy outdoor conditions. It’s not perfect, which is to be expected with open-ear earbuds, but it’s still not bad at all.

While the open-ear design is great for maintaining awareness of surroundings, in busy areas, external noise can occasionally interfere with the listening experience. But if you’re out running, it’s always good to be aware of what’s going on around you a little bit. When using these indoors, however, the playback is excellent. I used them at work for a bit and could keep the volume rather low whilst still hearing everything clearly, whilst being aware of surrounding noise, like if my desk phone rings or someone wants to ask me a question.

Conclusion

Overall, the SoundPeat POP Clip earbuds surprised me a lot. I wouldn’t say I’m fully converted, but I do like these. There’s a lot to like about them, and when you factor in the price – a very low $23.99 – then you really can’t go wrong. The battery life is impressive, having tested them a lot over nearly 2 weeks without having to charge once (the case is now flashing red, so it’s finally time). The sound quality is shockingly good, again, especially when you factor in the cost. It’s something that SoundPeats are becoming known for, and I love that. Quality products without breaking the bank. And long may it continue!

I also appreciate the physical buttons, as I’m not a fan of touch controls. Realistically, my only complaint is that, like the PearlClip Pro’s, these rattle around in the case. It’s not much, but it can be slightly annoying. Not something I’m sure can be solved either, so it’s really not a big complaint. These are just good, solid earbuds at a brilliant price that sound shockingly good. If you’re looking for this kind of form factor, then I’d highly recommend checking these out.
