Northgard Battlegrounds is out now in Early Access on Steam. The city-building auto-battler turns the Viking world of Northgard, a series past 5 million sales, into asynchronous PvP. It arrives after a well-received Steam Next Fest demo, and the launch carries a 10% discount.
Shiro Games, the studio behind Northgard, built the game with Funday Games, developer of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. The result remixes Northgard’s colony management for auto-battler play. Players build a village, amass gold and earn the favour of the Norse gods. Warriors and mythic beasts are then sent into asynchronous PvP rounds.
Each turn, expand your territory, construct and upgrade buildings, and assign workers to strengthen your economy. Harness powerful adjacency bonuses to maximise your settlement’s productivity and your army’s effectiveness, balancing immediate military strength against long-term growth. More than 100 Fate cards shape each strategy. They grant blessings and summon legendary creatures against opponents. Every decision brings your clan one step closer to victory, or defeat.
The Early Access launch adds a new faction, the Clan of the Bear. Dedicated Steam Deck support is also included. Lead your clan to triumph on the go!
