Edifier NeoBuds Pro

Edifier NeoBuds Pro Review

Welcome to my review of the truly wireless hi-res earbuds, the Edifier NeoBuds Pro. As you may know, we’ve reviewed a fair few Edifier products here. These are the latest to cross my desk, and I am so glad they did.

Holy Hi-Res!

The NeoBuds Pro have lots of neat features to make them my favourite wireless earbuds. When you’re done here, you can also checkout our previous hardware reviews.

The Hardware

These earbuds have plenty to write home about as you’ll see below. In the box we have the earbuds in a charging case, a charging cable, a quick guide, and also 7 different pairs/sizes of germ proof ear tips to swap out if the fitted ones don’t work for you.

Edifier NeoBuds Pro

Key Features:
  • Hi-Res Audio TWS headphones with LDAC and LHDC deliver high-resolution sound
  • Knowles Balanced Armature driver + dynamic driver + electronic crossover technology for natural and balanced sound
  • Hybrid ANC technology reduces noise by up to 42dB
  • Three-microphone noise cancellation ensures clear phone calls
  • 6+18 hours of continuous playback
  • Quick charge of ten minutes for one hour listening
  • 80ms low-latency game mode supported
  • IP54-rated dust and water resistance for outdoor scenarios
  • Various sizes of antibiotic ear tips for your comfort and health
  • Personalize your experience with the EDIFIER CONNECT APP

You may think 80ms is a high latency time for gaming, however, I’ve found that it’s barely noticeable. You can see it, but it really doesn’t matter. I’ve been playing Lies of P whilst using them and have had zero problems. You’ll definitely notice when game mode is not on.

Design and Functionality

As you’ll see below, the earbuds themselves have that similar design that we’ve come to love of Edifier earbuds. The only gripe I have is the charging case can feel a bit slippery. If you’re clumsy like I can be, you’re going to drop it, like I have.

Not to worry though as the case seems pretty darn tough. You pick it up, brush it off and notice a couple of small scratches, and it continues to work like nobodies done anything.

Edifier NeoBuds Pro

As mentioned, these are a fantastic set of earbuds, and you will do no wrong if you buy them. Sound of all kinds really does sound tremendous through these and you’ll notice that straight away. That’s even if you’re listening to it on “standard” music and not hi-res stuff. Of course, they absolutely shine when it comes to listening to hi-res music on a streaming service such as Tidal.

But if you don’t have access to hi-res music, you’re still going to get an incredible experience with the Edifier NeoBuds Pro.

Connection and Software

The NeoBuds Pro use Bluetooth 5.0 to connect to your devices. They connect with ease to everything I’ve tried. My Windows PC, my Linux laptop, my Steam Deck, my iPhone 14 Pro Max. All of them, no issue at all.

Also, when using a mobile device (iOS, Android) you can download the Edifier Connect app which helps configure the earbuds to your liking. There’s an equaliser with many presets as well as the ability to change up the tap options when you tap on the earbuds themselves.

Conclusions

I have used the Edifier NeoBuds Pro for quite a while now, many, many hours of music and gaming. They’re the perfect all-round solution to those of us who hate cables.

I give them a solid 10/10.
