Edifier W240TN Review

Welcome to my review of the Edifier W240TN Bluetooth earbuds. I’ve used a couple of other sets of Edifier earbuds a lot, the NeoBuds Pro and the TWS NeoBuds 2.

So this is another set of earbuds from Edifier but can they keep the same quality as with other Edifier products I’ve reviewed?

The Hardware

Upon opening the box, we see our new charging case sitting there waiting for us to pair our new buds to our device. The earbuds themselves are very well presented as per usual with Edifier hardware.

We get the earbuds and charging case inside the box, of course. As well as that we have a couple of leaflets, some replacement tips in different sizes, and a USB C charging cable. The charging case also has a fancy dynamic light bar which is useful for knowing when the device is in different modes such as charging and pairing.

The earbuds and case both feel nice and solid. I reckon they could take a fair few bashes/drops onto the ground!

Speaking of durability, they also have an IP55-rating so the device will be protected from dust and has water resistance.

Design and Functionality

The earbuds come in three colour options, black, white, and blue. I received the black pair for my review. All three options look rather nice to be fair, but in my opinion, the white ones look the best. The buds themselves feel nice both in the hand and in your ears.

The earbuds will be fantastic for taking those important calls on as they have AI noise cancellation, dual-dynamic drivers, and very clear microphones.

As with most modern wireless earbuds these offer Active Noise Cancellation and it works very well. As with most earbuds that have come out recently, there are three modes to use here, ambient sound, normal mode, and noise reduction mode.

It must be noted that noise reduction mode can only be used when both earbuds are in. This makes total sense and the other two modes can be used whether you have one or both of the earbuds in your ear(s). The Edifier W240TN has very acceptable battery life and can last for up to 7 hours per charge with ANC on. In place of capacitive buttons, they have physical buttons which take a bit of getting used to.

I kind of like this though, certainly helps to make them feel different to most other earbuds. The W240TN also have a game mode to help keep latency to a minimum for faster-paced games where time is of the essence.

Connection and Software

The Edifier W240TN supports Bluetooth 5.3 for connection to your devices. Of course, Bluetooth is the only way you can connect them to a device. But that’s a given considering they’re small Bluetooth earbuds.

They also support the Edifier Connect App which is available via iOS and Android. The app is completely free and will automatically recognise which earbuds or headphones you have and allow you to perform different options for your hardware. In this case, it will see the W240TN.

The Edifier W240TN feature two new options with the app. One can let you mute your voice and the other will let you choose a sound control mode, such as noise cancellation or ambient sound.

Conclusions

The Edifier W240TN are a fantastic pair of buds. They come in at a fantastic cost of £69.99 (at the time of writing) and sound brilliant for that price too.
